SKIN OF YEARS: NUDISM AND THE AGING BODY

This work is the culmination of an interdisciplinary project examining the practice of social nudism among senior citizens. It was conceived and conducted by artist, Ghislaine Fremaux, and gerontologist and social scientist, Dr. Jean Pearson Scott. The project queries the embodied experiences of nudists over sixty years of age.

The drawings intend to challenge and reframe both the artistic trope of "the nude" and the cultural treatment of aging bodies.

Each piece is partnered with a sheet of wall text, featuring excerpts culled from the depicted person's interview.
